ALL THE WHITE GLUES FREEZE IN TEMPERATURES BELOW 32 DEGREES AND HERE IN OHIO, IT JUST DOES NOT SEEM TO GET ABOVE 29 DEGREES.
THIS INCLUDES THE CRAFTERS PICK GLUE; PVA & WELDBOND.

A word about the selection of fine adhesives, PVA , Weldbond, E6000, Crafters Pick & Adhesives 101--I have selected these adhesives because I have used them and they work well.
If you are using an adhesive and it makes your paper wrinkle, it probably has more water in it than active chemicals.  It probably is less expensive than some brands because water is cheaper to add.  This is also true for laminating and decoupage adhesives.  The more water--the more your paper wrinkles.

You should protect your glues, decoupage and laminating adhesives from freezing.  Glue that has been frozen looks like cottage cheese.

If you want to perform a thorough  test on an adhesive, the best way to do this is glue 3 sets of items together and put 1 in a sunny window, 2nd in the regrigerator and 3rd in the bathroom.  Of course, this is not an overnite test but will certainly provide you with knowledge of whether the glue you are using is holding up.  This would be especially important if you are selling your artwork.

Corrine's Steampunk Piece -Cl. Hellmuth Matte Medium Adhered it all together

Winter Warning for Glues!!!

Some glues will freeze and get all cottage cheesy if they are shipped in the freezing cold of winter.  I have one shipper who won't even my ship my glue (PVA) unless it will be over 40 degrees and no threat of freezing)
I suggest you take stock of your PVA and other fine adhesives and see if you need any before it gets too cold to ship. If you do order in the dead of cold... I will either hold your order and glue and ship if we have some warmer days in the close future of that time or just refund it back to you thru Paypal.

helmaracidfreeuse.jpg

Helmar Professional Acid Free Glue, 8.45 oz~ This glue sets clear when dry, non=toxic, flexible bond and will not yellow.  It has been specially designed for book binding (PVA quality), mounting photographs, preserving old or precious books, documents, scrap books, decoupage and most craft projects.  It features excellent adhesion dense papers and has a highly flexible bond.  It dries quickly and is non-wrinkling.  The non-wrinkling has to do with the water content in glues- the more water- the more it wrinkles.
The drying time is considered fast but that also depends on your climate-humid areas will take a little longer.  It has a neutral ph level.  When using glues, always consider the 2 pieces you are trying to adhere and make your choice of glues on that.  This glue is not the type to use if you are gluing metals.  Great choice for papers, book binding, etc.

I used the matte medium to adhere this beautiful Graphics 45 paper to this special edition cigar box.   I use a trowel like plastic applicator to spread the medium all the way to the edges of the paper and it presents with an almost seamless adhesion to the box- a very professional look.

The Ultimate - Crafter's Pick

Crafter's Pick The Ultimate Glue~ This water based, non-toxic super glue adheres to metals, plastics, glass, ceramics, vinyls, painted and varnished surfaces, wood, fabrics, leather, paper and more.  It is great for glueing your favorite found objects to your project.  It is also useable as a water base contact cement for non-porous materials by coating both surfaces, allow it to go clear and them immediately press together.  Replaces toxic glues, cements and hot glue.  A great universal household glue.  Great also for pin backs, jewelry settings and so on.  . I have used it on many of the samples I have prepared with embellishments and they have held up very well traveling to conventions.   4 ounce size.
$4.99

Polymer Clay Artists- While attending the CHA, 2005 trade show, I had the opportunity to speak with Maureen Carlson, a well known polymer clay artist.  She uses The Ultimate by Crafters Pick for adhering her polymer clay creations.  I took a class with her and we used it to adhere clay to paper.  Worked great.

Crafter's Pick Incredibly Tacky Glue~ It really sticks! An all purpose glue, fast grabbing, fast drying and flexible.  Great for gluing odd shapes, fabric, wood, paper, ceramics, glass, leather, some plastics and metallic surfaces.  Non toxic and water based.  Dries clear.  I like both the Crafter's Ultimate and Tacky Glue equally well.
$4.99 - 4 Oz Size

e6000use.jpg

E6000 Craft Adhesive~ This is a well loved glue by crafters and jewelry makers.  Many people who lke to work and make jewelry absolutely love this glue and won't use anything else.  It dries clear and has been specially formulated to meet high performance industrial requirements.  It provides excellent adhesion to wood, metal, glass, fiberfglass, ceramics, leather, rubber, vinyl and many plastics.  It is even acide free once fully cured.  Many glues don't actually dry-they cure and this is what provides the good bond.  What really intriqued me about this glue is that it is even washer/dryer safe.  Investing in good glues is never a mistake!  It comes packaged in a 2 oz. tube.  I checked with the mfg. for freezing- it can be frozen & thawed up to 11 times.  Check below for the smaller 0.18 Fl oz size tube.  It also is flexible when dried, paintable, waterproof, non-flammable & safe for photographs.
$5.69 OUT OF STOCK

E-600 Smaller Size, 0.18 Fl Oz~Same great glue, just smaller size tube.  I personally find this one more appealling.  I have resisted using the larger tube, but have gained a whole new appreciation for the glue in this smaller size.  I just find it more manageable,  more expensive in this size, but I go in and out of projects- so may use it alot for a period of time and then not pick it up again for awhile.

Glossy Accents by Ranger~ I am always amazed at the number of products on the market and how you sometimes pass over them without realizing what a treasure they are.  This is one of those products.  It seemed that at CHA 2008, many companies were using this product for their make-it/take-its.  This is a clear dimensional adhesive,  You can use this on top of something to add dimension or bring attention to it, much like Judikins or Aleene's, but I particulary liked it as an adhesive to glue things into the metal pendants, like the Patera pendants or Amate pendants.  I also used it as an adhesive to put embellishments onto a wood mirror and it worked great, even on a tiny light bulb.  It dries to a hard, clear glossy finish and comes with a fine tip for precise application.  Remember, as with most dimensional adhesives- don't shake it! - this creates air bubbles.  Comes in a 2 oz. plastic bottle.  The sample shown right is a metal covered disc covered in paper with glossy accents applied over top.

Do you have enough double stick Terrifically Tacky Tape?

smpl5use.jpg

Sample of metal disc covered with paper and then crackle applied on top and then the plain glossy accents over the dried crackle.  She has some serious aging going on.

smpl22use.jpg

Sample with paper covered domino, crackle applied and after that dried the regular glossy accents was applied.  Sorry this didn't scan better.  I have a square bead topped with a Swarovski crystal on the bottom and the extra height and dimension makes the bottom image blurry.
