Well it's July, 2012 as I write this, just following the terrible heat wave we have had with temperatures
in 100's for multiple days. Here in Ohio we also had an unusual storm called a derecho come through the 1st week in
July doing some major damage, not only here in Ohio, but from Chicago to the east coast. Many thousands and thousands
of people were without electric. So they have had a lot of info about storms & things on the news. One
thing that surprised me was that more people are killed from the heat than tornadoes, hurricanes & flooding combined.
Now here is the good part for us crafters. Since we all crave to do our crafts(s) rather than house work, they were
talking on tv about lightning & the dangerous places to be in your house during a storm. They said.......running
a vacuum cleaner was bad-since it is plugged into the electrical outlet. So, that got me thinking how people will say-
it's got to be happy hour somewhere so they can drink...so for us crafters...there has got to be lightning somewhere in the
world- so we better not be vacuuming and be safe & do crafts.
That's my story & I'm sticking to it!

This picture to the right & below (depending on your browser) with the blue beads shows the kind
of beads I mentioned- silver lined glass beads. They are very similar to a very popular high end brand that you see
on bracelets & necklaces. It always helps to see a picture.
Twist Key Pendant-Rockin' Guitar~This pendant is made to accept large hole beads by unscrewing the top
and adding the beads to the post. It will probably look best with the silver lined glass beads. It measures approx.
3 3/16" from ring at the top to the bottom of the guitar. It measures approx. 3/4" at its widest. You can rock
& roll all night with this rockin' guitar. Remember, you get tired of the look or want to match an outfit- change
the beads for a completely new look. Very versatile. Sold per pendant. With it's music or rock'n'roll theme-
it also makes a great gift. Looks great by itself too, without the addition of any beads.
$2.99 Sale Price $1.59
Twist Pendant-Scroll & Fleur de Lis~This pendant will look great with or without the addition of
the silver lined glass beads. This pendant measures approx 3" from top of ring to bottom. At its widest, it measures
approx. 3/4". It has a cool fleur de lis design and the bottom scrolls come out on 3 little feet. These twist
pendants would generally accomodate 3 of the metal lined glass beads or other similar beads. Remember that these pendants
are so versatile, you can wear with beads on the shaft or just as it is for a great look. Try some of your favorite
fibers tied on or tear strips of fabric for a real rocker look.

Flat Pendant Bail Plate~First, let me say, this scan does not do these justice at all. These are
a flat bail, square shape, and the square measures 5/8" x 5/8" (17mm) and the bail adds another 5/16" to the top. They
come in a nice bright polished sterling silver plated finish. The bail has a generous opening to accomodate most chains,
ribbons, cording, etc.
Sold per pendant.
Round Bail Plate~This bail plate comes in a beautiful sterling silver plated finish- very bright and
shiny. It measures approx. 19 mm or 3/4" in diameter. The scan does not do it justice for how pretty it is.
You can add a picture, collage, photo to the flat plate and add glaze on top for a nice look. Add a stone, or other
object too. Sold per piece.
Square Disk Bracelet~This bracelet comes with a 9.5 mm or 3/8" square plate to add your embellishments
to. The bracelet measures 7.5" in length and has a fold over clasp. Plated in hamilton gold. Sold per bracelet.
Limited to stock on hand as they are no longer available.

Beadalon Wire Guards~I have not been beading much the last couple years and recently (Sept. 09) made
a project using these and wow! I loved them. They replace crimp beads when you have a project you are working on with
a needle and weaving or sewing like a right angle weave bracelet. I have a pic showing how to use them, just before
you are ready to add your toggle clasp or other clasp, thread your wire or thread through the wire guard, add your clasp and
thread down through the other side of the wire guard- so easy and really has a nice finished look to it. These are from
Beadalon and are size #1, measuring .022" which is almost 1/4" (for those of us that are ruler and fraction challenged)
and about 1/8" at its widest. You get a package of 10 guards that are silver plated.
There are 2 samples at the bottom of this page using wire guards in a right angle weave bracelet.
Rectangle Silver Tone Stretchy Ring~ This is pretty neat I think, You can decorate this ring with
cool beads, pearls, flowers and more. You can add beads with head pins and wire. You could also make a design
from wire and have it be the spotlight of the ring. I will tell you, this ring did not fit comfortable on my ring finger.
It was much better on my pinky. It even looked kind of cool by itself with no beads..just the holes. Possibly
as the stretchy of the ring gets little looser it would probably be just fine for my ring finger. My ring finger
probably measures between a 7 & 8. Haven't measure it in awhile or tried on any rings to see. So just keep
it in mind. It has 18 of the barbell beads that is on the stretchy cord if that might help some of you who are more
familiar with this type of ring. The rectangle part measures approx. 11/16" across and 9/16" high. Sold per ring.
(I was wondering why I hadn't sold any after being on web for a considerable amount of time...forgot to add the "add to cart
button"...a mind is a terrible thing to waste)
$2.79 Sale Price $1.79
Silver Tone Barbell Beads~ You can use these barbell beads to creat adjustable rings and bracelets
that can be decorated with charms, flowers, wire and more. The holes are perfect for sewing, holding jump rings or making
glue secure. They measure 7/16" from each hole to hole. Most of the time you see these on rings with stretchy
cord to make them adjustable. Made of imitation rhodium bronze. Package of 42 pieces.

Strong Magnetic Clasps~ These are GREAT! The magnet is really strong and will do a fine job holding
your necklace or bracelet together. Measures 7x11mm. They have a bright silver tone finish on them.
Silver Tone Dangle Clips~These are wonderful. I just used them on a simple project so I had to
let you guys in on them. You can use them on paper projects (like the one shown) or even on your microscope slides,
etc. The mouth of the clip opens pretty wide. You can also use the hook at the top as a bail and just push it
closed with some pliers and you can easily hang your creation from a necklace. For inspiration, hang a future project
in your craft room so you don't forget it. Pkg. 7 clips.
Round Brooch Pin Form~This comes in 2 pieces. The base is flat with prongs and it has a
pin back attached on the back. The top part has all the holes and you can use this part to add beads and things to this
and when completed you fit it over the base and secure the prongs to hold it in place. You can then use this piece
as a wearable piece of art or use it to decorate a project, removing the pin back and adhering with your favorite adhesive.
You can cut the pin part off the back and glue to a ring form for a cool ring. It measures approx. 1 1/4" in diameter.
Eyeglass Leash Connectors~ I have tried several different types of eyeglass connectors and like this
style the best by far. Eyeglass chains are great if you don't have to wear your glasses all the time. You can just take
them off and they hang neatly around your neck. You ALWAYS know where they are! Be creative, use beads, polymer
clay beads, shrink plastic dangles, or keep it simple with seed or bugle beads. Makes a wonderful gift. Don't
forget to make one for your sunglassess too. Pkg. of 8. (Be sure to read the tip below on connectors)

Eyeglass Leash Connector Tip~
Occasionally I have had my eyeglass leash connectors break- the other kind with the plastic strap.
Anyhow, I found this idea on another web site and will incorporate it into my future eyegleass leash connectors. Attach
a lobster claw clasp to the connector finding and then connect that to the beaded leash. That way if you do have a problem
with a connector, you can unsnap it and insert another. I loved this idea because I have several leashes sitting around
waiting to be re-strung. What a time saver!
Lobster Claw Clasp ~ Silver tone, nickel, 11 mm clasp. I intentionally added these below the eyeglass
connectors because of the great tip I have listed below for use with the eyeglass connectors. Pkg of 12.
Steel Key Chains~ Brass (gold color) or nickel plated (silver color). Add your beads and
/ or your charms and you are ready to go. Add them to a book or journal. Attach to a favorite picture. Adhere
your picture onto thin wood or book board, add a jump ring and attach to key ring. If you have a bunch of those laminate
samples from the hardware stores and looking for a way to use them, this is the perfect answer. They make a great keychain!
Pkg. of 5.
Steel Key Chain- Brass
Steel Key Chain - Nickel
TIP~Use your formica samples and turn them into cool keychains.
French Wire Keepers~ Whether you make earrings for yourself or want to give a little extra value to
the earrings you sell, these wire keepers are great. Clear in color, so not noticeable. They prevent your French
wire earrings from slipping off your ear. Pkg: 36 Pcs. (18 sets)
Flat, Round Brass Connector~ You can adhere your favorite little object to this connector and then use
jump rings to connect together for a bracelet or necklace or just a layout on a scrapbook page, box or altered book.
You might have a small game component or some other item you would like to use in a piece of jewelry or artwork- this
is the way to make it useable. The connector measures approx. 3/4" from end to end and the center circle measurs approx.
almost 5/8 in diameter. Pkg. 10
Smaller Magnetic Clasp~ These clasps measure 5x11mm or approx. almost 1/2" long from ring to ring.
They have a powerful magnetic hidden inside the metal casing. Use for your bracelets, necklaces, etc. to easily put
on or remove your piece. Come in bright silver tone finish. Pkg. 8 Pcs.
Bright 7" Silver Plated Hat Pin~ This hat pin is done in a bright silver and has a decorative barrel
shaped stop at the bottom. Use with beads, drilled dominos or mah jong tiles, or even as a binding for a book.
Wire Guards~These wire guards are the same size as the Beadalon wire guards at the top of the page-
.022 or a #1. I have bought them in bulk so I have better pricing on this one. They are just a dream- a great
way to finish off a sewn bracelet like a right angle weave or use in conjunction with crimp beads to protect your wire from
wear and tear. They come in silver tone or gold tone. They come in a package of 6 guards.
Silver Tone Wire Guards, Pkg of 6~ $0.29
Gold Tone Wire Guards, Pkg of 6~$0.35
Antique Silver Plate Bali Toggle~I think this is a really classy toggle. I have used it on a couple
bracelets and have been very pleased with the look and function. It measures 20 mm or 11/16" in diameter. Sold
1 toggle set per package.
Fleur de Lis & Crown Charms, Antique Brass Finish~These charm set will look great on a necklace,
bracelet or as an embellishment on a art prooject. The fleur de lis measures approx. 5/8" at its widest. It has a ring
at one end so you can easily add to your project. It measures approx. 7/8" high including the ring. If you wanted
to charm to lay flat for a project, you would have to cut the ring off. When using the ring, it will dangle with the
fleur point down-if that makes a difference for your jewelry. The crown- very neat. It is a complete crown-not
cut off at any point so it is completely round-it could easily sit on the head of a doll or other project. It has a
ring at the top, but if you were using it for an altered art project, rather than cutting it off, I think a rhinestone would
be great there. It measures approx. 1/2" wide and approx. a little more than 1/2" high. Antique brass finish
and comes package of 8 charms -4 fleurs and 4 crowns.
Fleur de Lis & Crown Charms-Antique Silver Finish~This is same item as above, just in the antique
silver finish. Pkg of 8 charms, 4 fleurs & 4 crowns.
Round Charm Frame & Connector-Antique Nickel Finish~This charm can be used in jewelry making- bracelets,
necklace, etc or use on an altered art project. The center is recessed so you can also add a picture, decorative paper,
etc. to make this a unique embellishment. It has a scalloped shape on the outside so could also be perceived as a floral
embellishment also- maybe some dried flowers in the center. It measures approx. 13/16" across and approx. 1 1/8" from
end to end including the ring. The center area measures approxl. 1/2" in diameter. Pkg of 3 charms.

Denise Landa, a local artist from Cincinnati, Ohio, designed this beautiful necklace using the brass necklace
base. Denise teaches at stores and conventions in and around Ohio and was kind enough to send us a picture of her work.
I love the selection of embellishments she used. My favorites are the mask, copper numbers and the filigree circles
dangling on each side.
I don't stock any serling silver findings due to the fact that, for some reason, sterling silver seems to
tarnish very quickly in my home. Not sure why, maybe the climate, maybe because we have a partial dirt basement and
holds moisture. I would be polishing st. silver all the time! I try to stock silver tone items that have a nice
quality, upscale finish on them instead plus the added bonus of the cost.
I use the findings I stock on most of my jewelry pieces and have had good results and many compliments.
|Corrine's Steampunk Piece
I haven't made up my mind yet if this piece will be a necklace or pendant or both if I use the pin back
with bails. It is composed of rusty washers that had been soldered together, some brass steampunk gear charms and a
brass filigree piece I had been hoarding for quite some time. I adhered the rusty washer piece to the filigree using
Claudine Hellmuth Matte Medium. I also used some gold leaf on the rusty washers and the center piece is a epoxy brad
from Bo Bunny.
Claudine Hellmuth Matte Medium can be found on this page with our other fine glues & adhesives & resins
Brass Steampunk Gear Charms can be found on this page.
Cardboard Tape Roll Bracelet~Believe it or not this is the cardboard roll that tape was on. I
recently watched a video by Mary Jo McGraw on Art Materials and used a technique she talked about. I gessoed the cardboard
white, then I used Golden Acrylic Paint, Ochre, and painted the whole bracelet. I then applied Golden's Tar Gel-just
streaming it on randomly. I let that dry and then applied Kiwi Brown Shoe Polish over it. I used 2 coats of the
shoe polish because I wanted it a little darker. Cool, huh.
Same bracelet- just close up view- looks like wood.
