Mica Tiles~This is the ultimate all natural, organic product. They come from the earth and
each are unique in color with their own distinctive variations and markings. It adds wonderful color, texture and character
to your projects. They are multi-layered so you peel off what you want from each piece. They are heat resistant,
transparent, acid-free and archival. Use in scrapbooks, jewelry making, stamping and other paper arts, mosaics and even
photo transfer techniques. They come in various sizes- largest measureing approx 3x4". Since you can peel
them apart- you get many more applications that just what looks like in the package- approx 10 pieces. You can tear
them, cut with scissors or even die cut them. Adhere to almost any surface using clear glossy adhesive like Ranger Accents,
Claudine Hellmuth matte medium, Judikins Dimensional Glaze, Aleene's accents, etc. You can also use pressure sensitive
tapes. You can paint, stamp, emboss, etch, ink and encapsulate.
I have used them with the brass charms- typing or stamping an image and gluing to the inside of a recessed center brass
charm and then peel (delaminate) the mica and use it to cover the word. I like it because it takes a bright white paper
and tones it way down without using ink- I am keep it simple girl!
I used the ornate round frame below, printed off the word "Dream" on regular computer paper and covered
the paper with a sheet of mica and adhered to the back of the ornate round charm. You could also get the same or similar
look by covering the inside of the carm with Ranger Sepia Accents for an aged look. You could also color the brass charm
with alcohol inks or Copic Markers to complimet any project. You can also drill a hole in the ornate round frame, add
a jump ring for a cool addition to a necklace.
